Shinjuku Japanese Language Institute (also known as SNG for Shinjuku Nihongo Gakkô) was founded in 1975 and is located in Takadanobaba, a student neighbourhood in the heart of Tokyo. Since the establishment of the school, SNG has continuously pursued research on the teaching of Japanese language to develop a unique method, the Ezoe method. It uses cards of different colors and shapes to visualize the types of words to organize them in correct sentences, as well as gestures to easily assimilate the conjugations of verbs. SNG offers classes for all levels, from the very basics to advanced grammar, as well as specific classes for business Japanese or to teach using the Ezoe method. On top of the standard curriculum, it is possible to take preparation classes for the EJU and/or the JLPT. Students can also participate in various cultural and seasonal events through the year, and go on field trips organised by the school. Long-term courses start in April (1 or 2 years) and October (1.5 year), with the application period starting 6 months prior.
