Institute of Science Tokyo (formerly Tokyo Institute of Technology)

Institute of Science Tokyo (“Science Tokyo”) was established upon the integration of Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Tokyo Institute of Technology (“Tokyo Tech”) on 1 October 2024. Science Tokyo has the longest history among science and technology universities in Japan and has been generating innovation for over 140 years. The Science and Engineering fields of Science Tokyo have three campuses – two in Tokyo, and one in adjacent Yokohama. These provide a comfortable setting for a truly unique study experience. Program taught in English include a wide range of graduate-level degree programs and one undergraduate-level program. The International Graduate Programs (IGP) cater to students hoping to pursue more advanced science or engineering degrees, both master’s and doctoral courses. The Global Scientists and Engineers Program (GSEP) offers a transdisciplinary engineering program for undergraduate students. Various scholarships are available. Our Institute allows all students to experience the pleasures of research from an early stage. Findings from research institutes are fed back into curricula, and as laboratory members, students are in close contact with the world’s top researchers.
