The Graduate School of Governance Studies of Meiji University offers a wide variety of courses with covering all areas of public policy and administration. Our program is centered around three key areas: Public Policy, International Development Policy, and Community Management. In each of these areas, courses on contemporary worldly issues such as e-government, sustainable development, decentralization, citizen participation, and disaster preparedness are offered by our full-time faculty members. Many of them have extensive professional experience and knowledge in both theory and practice in various backgrounds. Our program encourages students to specialize further in the theory of public policy and administration such as governance and policy sciences, or in more practical issues such as public-private partnerships and inter-governmental relations. We offer are training for studying the roles and functions of these emerging public policy issues from different perspectives. Our Master of Public Policy program is highly interdisciplinary, enabling students to apply various approaches and concepts of political science, economics, public management, and governance studies. Through exposure to these different fields, students will gain their knowledge in governance and skills for public management. Our school is located on Meiji University’s Surugadai Campus, which is easily accessible from Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Marunouchi and many other central districts of downtown Tokyo. This central location and the range of available resources in vicinity provide an ideal study environment for professionals in government and public administration. We welcome all of you who are motivated to contribute to the betterment of the society by taking a leadership role in public sector, such as elected officials, public officials, and NGO staff, as well as in the private sector.
